Struggling with Perfectionism and Overwhelm?

Do you find it difficult to manage everything? Are you aiming for perfection? Trying to stay on top of things but constantly feeling like you're falling behind?

Consider the familiar scenario of preparing baked goods for your child's school sale. The aim is to contribute a baked item for the class to sell and raise funds. After a long day at work, ensuring dinner is served, everyone gets to their evening activities with all necessary equipment, you return home and remember that tomorrow is the school bake sale. Oh no! Now it's time for bath and bedtime routines, and you're running out of energy. What do you do, and to what level of perfection?

1) Do you put everyone to bed and start from scratch on perfect treats? This will take at least an hour for mixing, baking, decorating, and cleaning up. 2) Do you opt for the box mix, canned frosting, and save yourself 20 minutes? OR 3) Do you plan a quick five-minute store stop and send pre-packaged treats in the morning?

Your internal dialogue might include thoughts like: 1) 'Homemade' is so much better. It shows how much I care about my kids and the quality they consume and share. 2) It's still made at home, but I can get some sleep tonight and possibly function in the morning to do it all over again. OR 3) Forget it, they're kids, and baked goods will be enjoyed regardless of the time invested. Enter here, a Hopeful Lifestyle.
