What do You Want from Your Home?

A dwelling can bring opportunities that we may not even understand until it's just a way of life.  When I'm working with clients that are just really getting started in their Hopeful Organizing journey, I often ask what they want from a space.  How do you want a space to feel?  How do you want it to serve your current life?  We too often just go about with what we think it right but have you slowed down enough to think about the feels and wants you really want from your home?

I want my living room to feel like a relaxing comfort of fun!  All the things we can do as a family or together with company to live readily available and organized into the space with a side note of fun and fandoms.  Our living room includes our comfy couch, tv and the piano along with accessories and extras for each. This is a shared space for us so the organizing styles have been blended for a whole home team maintenance option.

My bedroom is more mellow and relaxing with the hidden opportunity for entertainment.  I tend to hide in my room when my son has a sleepover or friends visiting but I try to keep my personal space less distracting and more sleep and relaxing focused.

The office is definitely more productive focused when it comes to being organized with just a splash of fun added.  There are clear containers and zones setup throughout the room and it's pretty clear of clutter distractions.  Being a non-visual organizer, I know it's a must for my productive time to not have distractions and for me, that includes no piles of possible to-dos sitting around.

So, what do you want from your home?  Do you approach organizing spaces with a feels thought too?
