What's the Best Way to Organize My Clothes?

Sorting clothes can look different for various people, their spaces and their organizing style preferences. Heck, my preferred way varies from clothing type even. Not to mention the what's to use for each person questions that can come up with this common organizing question.
When we started the shift of my son taking over his full laundry cycle was when I really learned that drawers and hangers aren't for everybody. Getting a eight year old to open and close drawers or take the time to remove and replace hangers felt like an unachievable task. Getting that same eight year old to toss like clothes with like clothes in a bin, that was doable. The hardest part of that specific shift was me letting go of my control issues and let him do what was best for himself and organizing his clothes.
It was around this time that I realized that I need a little more detail in almost all of my clothes storage spaces, except my pajamas. I would have never thought about just tossing stuff into a bin until we worked through that space and haven't looked back since implementing it for my pjs and loungewear. It's the only clothing stuff that I usually just grab from the top and put whatever on so it works. The rest of the areas though, I need a quick find for what I'm wanting for the day. I know I don't like seeing everything all the time but I do like seeing everything at one time when I'm getting ready, so in my space, you'll find hangers and folded clothes behind a door or drawer system.
What do you think is the best way for you to organize your clothes? Are you more macro organizer like my son or a hangers and folding person like me?
