What's the Best Way to Organize My Kitchen?

When it comes to getting organized, the questions can feel endless. While a lot of details about simplifying and sorting the kitchen space are shared in Small Space Successes Volume 2: The Kitchen Edition but let's break it down a little more.

Organizing, here at Hopeful Simplicity, is sorting all your stuff into sustainable systems based on your personal organizing style and your specific space.  The best way to organize my kitchen may look different than the best way to organize your kitchen.  I'm overwhelmed easily in this space if I can see too much but I know my son succeeds more if he can see what we have.  So a compromise of clear containers behind a solid door is what works best for us.  It's easy enough for him to open the cupboard or pantry door and see exactly what's where behind the door.  Most of our things are either on the open shelf space in the cabinet or emptied into a clear container inside the pantry.  If he wants a plate,  it's at easy see and grab when that cabinet is open.  If crackers are the go-to grab,  that container is clear so it's easy to see what's inside and there is label noting exactly what it is, just in case.  The label is really helpful when the container is empty and the grocery list is being created.

Maybe what's best for you is having open shelves and glass cabinet door fronts.  The best way to organize your kitchen is to know and own your personal style for success and accept compromises if the space is a shared one.
