Is Organizing a Punishment?

Often times, organizing can be lumped into the broad category of all things home. Cleaning, maintenance, general appearance and upkeep, all those things can just get dumped into the having a dwelling category and organizing is tossed in the same bucket. Many of these things could be factors in our minds that make us judge ourselves on being a responsible adult versus a lazy mess. Hear me out...were you ever told 'you can't go outside and play until your chores are done?' 'You're not doing that until your room is clean!' 'If you can lean you can clean.'
If you've ever heard those or even thought them to yourself, then organizing really can feel like a punishment. It's hard to shift thoughts like that, especially if we're getting more and more set in our ways but anything is possible, right?
Along the journey toward less stressed living, organizing can become it's own entity. It's the ideal of creating homes for all the stuff and not feeling overwhelmed with clutter. Once an organizing journey is started to be viewed a little differently and we sprinkle some Hope in there, the shift can really start to happen. No longer is it punishment to clean a room because everything is organized and nothing needs to be moved expect the dirt from the room. No longer is it a punishment to do my chores because we call them habits and they are added to the schedule in manageable ways instead of an all day ugh feeling. Embracing and organized life includes our mindset and what we tell ourselves.
